thatha was 22 and paatti was 14 when they saw each other. paatti's appa sri KV.Veeraraghavan decided to conduct the marriage in Keezhanatham, his native village. since it was 2nd world war time, and commodities were hard to come by, they must have fornd it easier to think about a village wedding.all of the family, the Veeraraghavans, the sisters, the brothers of OUR thatha and paatti started from Madras and arrived in Keezhanatham long before the wedding date.the Bridegroom's side arrived from Thirunelveli.It was a gala affair of 5 days wedding.though the groom's side was not very satisfied with the economics of the simple wedding, they were very fascinated with the pure beauty of the madras bride.the highlight of the Wedding was the Oorvalam arranged for the handsome groom a chariot ride.well decked with flowers and driven by two white horses, it was a magnificent occasion.. except for the weak horse which had replaced the stronger one and which took a wrong turn from the usual path.and the rest was history.Thatha managed to jump out of the chariot unhurt, and took the matter lightly. even though little bit shaken he was able to smile it off.but it was a well remembered event by the whole family. Paatti (smt.Jayalakshmi Narayanan) told me only in 2005!!!!
