தமிழில் எழுத ஆர்வம் இருந்தும் முயற்சி செய்யாமல் சும்மா இருந்த என்னை முடுக்கி விட்டு ப்லொக் பதிவு செய்ய வைத்த துளசி கோபால், என்னை அஙகீகரித்து ஆரம்பித்து வைக்கும் தமிழ்மணத்துக்கும் என்னுடைய
வணக்கம்.
ரொம்ப தேர்தல் வாசனை அடித்தால் மன்னிக்கவும்.
ஐம்புலன் களும் ஒலிப்பெருக்கி,கொடி என்றே நிரம்பி இருக்கின்றன.
தவறு இருந்தாலும் பொறுத்து கொள்ளவும்.

ஆர்க்கிட் பூவைவிட அழகான பூ இந்த செர்ரி ப்லொசம். அமெரிக்கா வாஷிங்டன் நகரத்தில் ஸ்ப்ரிங் ஸீஸனில் பூக்குமாம்.
இதைப் பார்க்க மக்கள் ரொமான்ஸ் செய்யும் நம்ம சினிமா காதலர்கள் போல வருவார்களாம்.
எனக்கு என்னவோ நம்ம ஊரு ஆடிப்பெருக்கு தான் இன்னும் கொஞ்சம் நிறைய வாய்ப்புகளைக் கவிதையாகத்
தரும் என்று தோணுகிறது.

Madurai MEENAKSHI AMMA

பச்சை நிறம் என்றாலெ நினைவுக்கு வருவது கிளியும் மீனாட்சியும் தான். இந்த கிளியும் கோதை கிளியும் கொஞ்சும் கிளிகள் .என்ன இங்கே இருக்கிற கிளி அம்மா சொக்கா என்றூ கூவும். ஆண்டாளம்மா கையில் இருப்பவஙக ரங்கா, ரங்கா என்பார்கள்.சிறு வயதில் புதுமண்டபம் போவதே வளயலுக்கும், கிளிஅம்மா பார்க்கவும் தான்.
நேற்று யேதொ சினிமாவில் சிரிவில்லிபுதூரில் செய்த கிளி காண்பித்தார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு நன்றி. இப்போது எங்காவது கிடைக்குமா என்று தெரியவில்லை. கிளியே என்ற பாடல்கள் ஆயிரம்.
சிவகாமியின் சபதம் நாவலில் சிவகாமியின் துணை ஒரு கிளியும் மானும் தான். கல்கி அழகாக சுக மஹரிஷி என்பார்.

தமிழ் அம்மா

அம்மா அப்பா இருவரும் என் கை பிடித்து தமிழ் எழுத வைத்தனால் இன்று ப்லொக் வரை வந்து இருக்கிறேன்.

ச்ரி வில்லிபுத்தூர் ஆரம்ப பள்ளி தொடங்கி கல்வி முடித்த எதிராஜ் கல்லூரி வரை அமைந்த தமிழ் ஆசிரியர்கலள் அனைவருக்கும் அவர் பாதஙகளுக்கும் வணக்கம்.

நின்றே போதித்தார்கள்.

அவர்கள் இவ்வளவு ஊக்குவித்ததால் இந்த ஆர்வம் தொடர்ந்து கொண்டு இருக்கிறது.ஒரு ஒரு சொல்லும் மறக்காத வண்ணம் நினைவில் நிறுத்தினார்கள்.

Thiru-Nel-Veli

This is the scene we used to witness from the train windows as it was chugging along the rails either towards Madras or from Madras.
Great grandfathers,
Thatha Seval (a village) Ramayyangaar and Thatha Thirumalai of Thirukkurungudi must have loved their lands too.I recall my paatti telling me that thatha used to get up early in the morning have kanji( boiled rice) and karuveppilai thogayal and go to work in the fields. And return only in noon time for lunch. and their lunch would be a simple affair of rice,kuzhambu and some keerai.potatoe was not a known item and was not welcome too.
Likewise onions, drumstick and someother variety of food was not in the aakaara niyamam. That is a way of those days. the culture was followed everywhere and they lived healthy and long lives too.and
both pattis were very hardworking as was the case of most women of those days. A regular village life started early in the morning with cleaning the house and drawing water from the well.
Filling water for cooking,bathing and washing.Children took care of their own needs, elder ones took care of younger ones.
The boys went to school and the girls stayed home assisting their mothers. The girls were taught just the Tamil alphabates so they can read and write and do math too. Think that was enough to run the house and manage the needs of "paal kanakku "and settling provision stores account . They led a contented life. Never were taught to expect more than what they can afford.
I remember Paatti --my mother telling that she had to go walk atleast a mile to bring drinking water of just one kudam(pot) . That was in Kayathaaru (yes, the place mentioned in the history of Veera paandiya Kattabomman)where Thatha was posted .That was their first year of marriage. then they shifted to Srivilliputhur where water was equally hard to get,but we had our own well. To Paatti that must have been a big improvement.!

Shenbaga vadivu

Shenbaga vadivu was our first woman helper in the house. she came to assist Paatti in household works. Such a devoted person,she will be up and about in very early morning, take care of her own kids and come to our house by 6Am. A small woman of 22 or 23 ,simple and honest caring. we were children of 7,5 and 3 when we landed in Thirumangalam. It was neither a town nor a village. But it was a shades towards city life with many business communities operating from there.
Shenbaga had a little hut near by .she was so clean and neat and she was devoted to Paatti and us. when Ranga mama was having some with his skin she went to the naattu vaidhyar and brought back marunthu from him which immediately took care of his pain.
the same way when M. mama had the same ailment she was ready to help us in anyway she could.
Here i shd record a very funny incident.There was a regular launderer who used to take our clothes to wash in the river there once in a month . when Paatti was checking up the clothes ,she found one shirt missing.It was M.mama's.
Mama was so upset when he found out that Mayan (the launderer's son was wearing the same shirt.
He got so angry that he went all the way to the laundry and demanded that his shirt should be returned to him immediately.I think I also followed him. Now it seems so comical.But Mama got his shirt back and everything was alright.
Shenbagam was instrumental in this too. She had a goodtime laughing about this describing the whole incident to Paatti.

In Thirumangalam ,the city had lots of
gardens of Jasmine and roses panneer roses with a very sweet smell. the roses were sent to Madhurai and then to everywhere in the world.


. Thirumangalam had one high school boys and one for girls. and there was one basic Elementary school for children.Life was easy. Andipatti
Madurai,Usilampatti,vaadipaatti,kallupatti,vathalagundu,
vatharayiruppu virudhunagar are some of the towns I remember. there was a TVS bus route and two or three more transports.
On the street where we lived there was the small kovil of Meenakshi amman.all the towns activities went around the temple.Navarathiri,uthsavams,Panguni uthiram,seasonal festivities like kolaatta javantharai.Vaikathu ashtami.Maargazhi was a special month.
Mornings were reserved for devotional songs and hot pongal viniyogam from Sri Meenakshi temple.
